Statistically, most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions by January 19th. I’m not like most people: I resolved not to have a resolution this year. But, what about you? Are you still sticking with them? If your resolution was to go out and embrace all that the Coastal Bend has to offer, boy, we have news for you – check out the local offerings this weekend:

No, it’s not just full of hot air: these large-scale inflatable sculptures, according to the traveling museum website, “explores the complex relationship between the familiarity of the material combined with serious commentary.” The second iteration of Bedford Gallery’s inflatable exhibition, ‘Blow Up II’, opens this Friday at the AMST. No, it’s not just bouncy houses (I checked). Also opening is Karin Broker’s ‘my small circus.’ Broker’s art responds to society’s expectations against the female gender. To learn more, join Broker at ‘Lunch Amongst the Masters,’ where she will discuss her creative process. Lunch served at noon, discussion at 1 p.m. Find more information and register here.

PRIME MALE REVIEW
Saturday, 8 p.m.
El Catrin Bar & Lounge
I, um, really don’t have words to summarize this, so here are some emojis: . I mean, how else do you interpret something that combines the “intensity and seduction of ’50 Shades of Gray’ with the powerful choreography of ‘Magic Mike’ ”? If that doesn’t … pique … your interest, then don’t go to El Catrin to take in this production featuring California’s “sexiest men in stage entertainment.” Tickets are $20 each; make your reservations by calling 361-947-2805.
