Y’all the sun is shining, South Texas is warming up, and this weekend looks like it’s packed with fun. From egg hunts to monster trucks, mudbugs to pickles, here’s all the fun you can get into and grub down on this weekend around the Coastal Bend:

HOT YOGA, COLD BEER (and pickles!) 

Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Nueces Brewing Company

Are you feeling a little downward dog? Do you feel a little more limber with some liquid help? Stretch into the weekend at this week’s installment of Hot Yoga, Cold Beer. This donation-based class is held weekly in the brew room of Nueces Brewing. Grab a cold one for some hot yoga, and we promise you, you’ll feel like a happy baby in no time.

 

EASTER PREVIEW

Grab your baskets! It’s time for some egg huntin’. Easter may not be until next weekend, but there’s plenty of egg-cellent fun lined up this weekend to get into the spirit of the season. (Did you see what I did there?) Check out these fun Easter activities:

 

GLOW IN THE DARK EGG HUNT: Head out to Rockport’s Memorial Park this Friday at 6 p.m. for a late-night egg hunt, touch-a-truck, Easter bunny photos, face painting and more. Egg hunts start at 8 p.m.

FLASHLIGHT EGG HUNT: Grab your flashlight  Friday night for the annual after dark egg at Ingleside’s Live Oak Ball Park at 8:15 p.m.. The field will be divided into different age groups, so the whole family can join in on the fun. 

EGG-DECORATING: Prefer to stay indoors Saturday morning? Pack up the kiddos and hop over to Alamo Drafthouse at 10:30 a.m. for an egg decorating event. $5 per person covers all the supplies you need for a crafty morning activity.

EGG HUNT BY THE BAY: Join the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department at noon on Saturday for their biggest egg hunt ever – all on the Water’s Edge Park lawn. 15,000 eggs filled with treats and prizes are up for grabs in this eggstravaganza. Meet the Easter bunny, play some lawn games, scramble up some inflatables and get your fill from food trucks, too.

RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN’S ‘OKLAHOMA!’

Stock up your pantry with local fruits, veggies and more at the Corpus Christi Southside Farmers’ market. This weekly market is held rain or shine in the Market shopping center at 5800 Everhart Rd.

 

LA PALMERA MURAL REVEAL

Saturday, 10 a.m.
La Palmera Mall

Join La Palmera and K Space for an out of this world mural unveiling at the mall Saturday morning. Approximately 80 local seniors aged 55 to 95 created the mural, titled “From Our Generation to Yours,” as part of K Space’s Senior Outreach Program. The brightly-colored 150-foot-long mural, featuring celestial images, was designed by local artists Monica Marie Garcia and Mayra Zamora, who have designed other La Palmera murals with K Space’s Summer Mural Arts Program. The interstellar piece of art will be installed on a wall in the parking area adjacent to Mall Shoe Service and the parking garage. (This event was postponed from last week due to weather). .

 

JLCC TOUCH-A-TRUCK 2024

Whataburger Field

Y’all, what kid (and kid at heart) doesn’t love trucks? What if I told you there’s an event where you can experience working vehicles and trucks of all types? Grab your kiddos and head to Whataburger Field for sixth fifth annual Touch-A-Truck event. This family-centric event offers kids a hand-on opportunity to climb, explore and, of course, touch the vehicles and meet the people who build, protect and serve the Coastal Bend. The free event is brought to you by the Junior League of Corpus Christi and H-E-B. Horns free time is from 10 a.m. to noon. 

 

HOT WHEELS MONSTER TRUCKS LIVE! GLOW PARTY! 

Saturday, 12:30 and 7:30 p.m.,  and Sunday, 2:30 p.m.
American Bank Center

Get revved up this weekend with an exhilarating, smashing show as your favorite Hot Wheels Monster Trucks come to life, including Mega Wrex, Tiger Shark, Bigfoot and more. This production features a laser light show, theatrical effects, dance parties and Hot Wheels toy giveaways. Don’t miss the transforming robot and the electrifying, high-flying motocross team. Children age 3 and up must have a ticket.

 

ISLANDERS WOMEN’S WATCH PARTY

Shakas up, Islander fam! Cheer on the No. 16 TAMUCC Women as they take on No. 1 USC in the first round of March Madness. Wear your best blue and green in support. No gear? No problem. Pick up some Islander swag on site from the campus bookstore.

What’s the big dill? Relish this sweet festival devoted to all things pickled. My stomach is rumbling just typing this out. This family-friendly and free-to-enter event will feature pickle eating contests, vendors, games and more. Sounds like a dill-lightful time. 

 

SEMANA SANTA ESPECIAL FT. EL DUSTY & THE HOMIES AND MORE

Kick off Holy Week with a party that’s sure to have you dancin’. Who says this week has to be doom and gloom? OK, that’s a bit of a stretch, but you know this party is going to have you groovin’ with El Dusty & the Homies, Tarasco Tropical, Gio Chamba and Chulita Vinyl Club. Tickets are $10 each. 

 

TWC PRESENTS TRAP MONEY

Cash in on the action at the Texas Wrestling Cartel’s Trap Money. Watch as fortunes are made in the ring at this pro-wrestling event featuring appearances by former WWE Lince Dorado, GCW’s Effy, NPJW’s Viva Van and more.
