New year, same me. But! I promise I’m back for good now. I had to take a little break to get my life and sanity in order, but now here’s what you’ve all been waiting for: the weekly roundup of RightOn weekend events! Fall in love with all  fun you can find this weekend across the Coastal Bend:

 

PROHIBITION SOFT OPENING

Friday, 4 p.m.
326 N. Chaparral St., Downtown

Have you heard about the speakeasy that’s the bee’s knees? Stop by Prohibition, located at 326 N.Chaparral St., for their soft opening on Friday. Try not to get too zozzled on that giggle water! (Could you tell I googled some Prohibition-era slang? Giggle water is now part of my every day lingo. No apologies.)

ART WALK

Friday, 5 p.m.
Downtown 

It’s First Friday, y’all! You know what that means: time to hit the streets downtown and shop your favorite local vendors. There’s something for everyone on every block and stop: from the best salsa to trinkets galore – and more. Grab something to nosh on from your favorite food truck. Missing the block parties? They’ll be back soon! 

 

FEBRUARY EXHIBIT OPENING

Friday, 5 p.m.
The Art Center of Corpus Christi

Stop by the Art Center of Corpus Christi during ArtWalk to catch their February exhibit opening. This month’s exhibits include Opposites Attract and the Members Gallery. Be sure to check out Chaos in Color by Andrea Mullen, Euphoria and All Membership 2024 through Feb. 24!

 

FIRST FRIDAY AT THE ART MUSEUM

Art Museum of South Texas

First Friday also means free admission all day to the Art Museum, presented by Frost Bank! Grab the whole family to take in the rotating exhibits on display. With extended hours, there’s no excuse not to embrace your inner Warhol or Picasso and find your way to the AMST. Bonus: hit the AMST outreach table at Art Walk for giveaways and art activities. (I mean, who doesn’t love free things?!)

 

HOT YOGA, COLD BEER

Nueces Brewing Company

Are you feeling a little downward dog? Seasonal affective disorder got you out of alignment? Do you feel a little more limber with some liquid help? This donation-based class is held weekly in the brew room of Nueces Brewing. Grab a cold one for some hot yoga, and we promise you, you’ll feel like a happy baby in no time.

The Queens of Azul Entertainment will dazzle House of Rock’s stage during Art Walk. Join host Isis Paris York for a fabulous start to February.

Who says cosplay is only for conventions? Show off your hard work and sewing and crafting skills at a cosplay contest at Alamo Drafthouse before a screening of Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron. Grab your tickets here.
