Race into this RightOn Weekend

Lace up your shoes, get your stretches in and eat all the peanut butter and bananas: Get on your marks, ready, set and go for Beach to Bay this weekend! Are you one of those waking up early to hit the ground/pavement/sand running? I’m not. That won’t stop me from taking part in all the other fun around the Coastal Bend this weekend:

 

HOT YOGA BY THE BAY

Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Nueces Brewing Company

Are you feeling a little downward dog? Mercury in retrograde got you out of alignment? Life in general throwing you off balance? Do you feel a little more limber with some liquid help? This donation-based class is held weekly in the brew room of Nueces Brewing. This week, the class will focus on warming up and prepping your body for the annual Beach to Bay relay. Runners attend free! Grab a cold one for some hot yoga, and we promise you, you’ll feel like a happy baby in no time. Register and prepay online for an awesome gift at Divine Moon Yoga

9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL

Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 2:30 p.m.
Harbor Playhouse

Tumble out of bed and stumble to the kitchen, pour myself a cup of ambition … you can’t tell me you didn’t start to sing along as soon as you saw “9 to 5”. If you didn’t, then we can’t be friends. The classic 1980’s hit movie takes to the Harbor Playhouse stage this weekend with its opening weekend. This hilarious musical, with music and lyrics by the queen Dolly Parton, needs no synopsis, but here’s one anyway:  “Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot!” Get your tickets here

 

SOUTH TEXAS CRAWFISH FESTIVAL 

Friday and Saturday
The Post OG

Got a hankerin’ for crawfish and live Texas country? Look no further than the South Texas Crawfish Festival at the Post OG. Grab your tickets now for Friday’s show with Jack Ingram or Saturday’s headliner Kyle Park. Full bar available with cash or card – but all ages are welcome. There’ll even be a moon bounce for the kiddos. Children 12 and under get in free. Tickets available online or in person at Big Joe’s Tire and Auto in Annaville and Corpus Christi Cycle Plaza. 

 

BEACH TO BAY 2024

Saturday, 7 a.m.

Run, Corpus, run: If you’re not already registered solo or on a team, or haven’t claimed a back up spot from someone, I doubt you’ll be running in this annual event. I, for one, will be asleep and in my air conditioned room, but hats off to all those running! Learn more about the relay marathon, an annual event since 1976, here

 

BEACH TO BAY AFTER PARTIES

Downtown Corpus Christi

For the runners, and non-runners and supporters alike, there’s bound to be some after parties … Race on down to this official unofficial one at Nueces Brewing at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Bring your bib for 50% off a pint. Then, jog over to the Annex at noon for their second annual Beach to Bay after party with food trucks, drink specials, air conditioning and more.  

 

SOUTHSIDE FARMERS’ MARKET

Stock up your pantry with local fruits, veggies and more at the Corpus Christi Southside Farmers’ market. This weekly market is held rain or shine in the Market shopping center at 5800 Everhart Rd.
