Right On Things To Do In Corpus This Weekend

It’s officially December! And you know what that means: Christmas is right around the corner. That means it’s time to shop, shop, shop – and we’ve got you covered. Holiday markets are popping up everywhere! But, there’s more than just shopping in store this weekend. From boat parades to ice skating, there’s plenty to do this weekend to get into the holiday spirit (even if the temperatures are warming up again).

ART WALK BLOCK PARTIES

Friday, 6 p.m.
Downtown

It’s the first Friday of the month, which means – you guessed it – Art Walk is back! We’ll be heading downtown to get a headstart on our holiday shopping from local vendors and to rock out to live music. The event also kicks off the Mayor’s Merriest Decor Contest, which means downtown businesses have decked the halls to get into the holiday spirit, and you can bet we’ll be checking them all out to find our favorite! Free to attend.

HOT YOGA, COLD BEER

Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Nueces Brewing Company

Life just got you feeling a little downward dog? Want to sweat out some calories before hitting the block party? Do you find you can stretch a little more with a little liquid help? This donation-based class is held weekly in the brew room of Nueces Brewing. Grab a cold one for some hot yoga, and we promise you, you’ll feel less like a Grinch and more like a happy baby in no time.

ILLUMINATED BOAT PARADE

Saturday, 5:30 p.m.
Corpus Christi Marina

It’s time for some boats and ho-ho-ho’s. OK, that was bad, we admit. But we love a good parade! Head down to the marina to watch boats decked out in their holiday best. Then, join the captains and crews for the parade after party at Nueces Brewing Company at 8 p.m. Free to attend.

TEXAS TEASE HARBOR LIGHTS CRUISE

Saturday, 5:30 p.m.
Harrison’s Landing

Maybe watching from the sidelines isn’t your thing and you want to be out in the water waving back at the simpletons like you’re Miss America, but “you ain’t got no boat Lt. Dan”! Well that’s where the Texas Tease comes in, they decked out their cruiser and wanna host. The ship is setting sail at 5:30 pm sharp so if you want to float the bay with a full bar be sure to be at Harrison’s Landing a little early.

LIVE NATIVITY

Saturday | Sunday, 6 p.m.
First Baptist Church

It’s not the holidays without a nativity scene, and First Baptist Church is hosting its annual live, self-guided one this weekend. This free, outdoor nativity features live music, cast, and animals. Yes, animals! Away in a manger, indeed!

TREE LIGHTING & ICE SKATING

Saturday, 6 p.m. | Sunday, 5 p.m.
Portland

Find yourself over the Harbor Bridge this weekend? Portland is kicking off its month long celebration of ‘Christmas on the Coast’ with a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday at the City Complex Courtyard. But what we’re most excited for? Strapping on our skates and hitting the ice at the Joe Burke Pavilion after. Daily admission is $10 a person, each day, and includes skate rental and unlimited admission for all the figure eights you can handle. The rink is open through the end of the month.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas … shopping! Grab some hot cocoa and shop local with dozens of vendors and small businesses at the Peppermint Lane Holiday Market. Snap some selfies with Santa and the Grinch while you find the perfect gifts for your loved ones … or while you’re treating your ‘elf’.
